Diagnosis class
It was a great experience to meet the children
for the first time in order to know them and measure a little of their English knowledge.
During that time, I could realize that they are very energetic children and
they like to engage in activities that require a lot of movement.
This day I knew my case of study. She is a very
cute girl whose name is Darlin Betzaida Alfaro Carrillo. She is seven years old
and she is studying her first grade.
Who started the class was my classmate Luis, he
introduced the class and he asked them some questions through the game “The Hot
Potato”. I could see that all students liked and got involved in the activity
because they could help each other, so I noticed they liked to work in groups.
I consider that all children enjoyed all the
activities because they showed to be interested on them although some of them
more than others because of the different ages that we have in the group. For
example, older children got more interested on Cristela’s activity since it was
a reading that required concentration, and I could notice that younger children
were not paying attention the whole time. It was not because they did not like
the activity, but because of the cognitive ability that every one of them have
developed according to their age.
As Darlin is one of the youngest children in
the whole group, she still misses to develop some abilities to carry out a task
just as older children do it. However, she is in the same stage as them, so the
difference may not that big enough. I will study her developmental areas in the
following classes.
